Đorđe Krstić (1851 - 1907) a painter and a professor of drawing in the Grande Ecole. Krstić finished his education in Munich (he had a state scholarship) in 1881. He traveled around Serbia and sketched the historical, cultural and artistic monuments, as well as particular custom scenes and traditional folk costumes from various parts of Serbia. In addition to the many sketches and studies, he did several significant iconostasis, icons, portraits, landscapes and historical compositions. His pedagogical work greatly influenced the generation of young artists at the beginning of the 20th century. The National Museum keeps the largest number of his work – 103 signed in the bottom right Đ. Krstić.
